They kept their lead though Johnny and Camila were close behind, but CT started to feel himself burning out. Ty and Emily held onto the hope that they could catch up, but all they could see from where they stood to the horizon was snow.

With six out of seven artifacts in her hands, Diem, a champion of long distance, noticed CT continuing to lag. He said his heart was in the game, but his body was shutting down. The guy famous for his athleticism started to crumble as an advancing Johnny mocked him from behind. Still, Diem breezed through the seventh checkpoint--another puzzle called "Sliced Up"--while CT rested. The Power Couple continued its reign over the finals, but Ty and Emily finally reappeared out of nowhere and the game was suddenly tighter than it had been from the start.

CT and Diem kept their lead by unlocking a Viking horn first after correctly arranging their completed collection of artifacts and started upward on a mountain toward the finish line at the peak. Diem looked ready to take on Everest, but had to continually call back to CT like a drill sergeant.
