General Tips and Hints This game saves automatically. Potions restore both HP and MP. To use a potion click on the red vial icon in the top right corner of the screen.
If you are using Potions faster than you find them don't be afraid to stock up on them at every merchant, they are extremely cheap. They are located at the bottom most level of the merchant screen. Because you'll always keep max potions finding or buying , don't be afraid to use them, even for just an MP refresh. DH2 Barrels can now drop weapons and armors as well as gold and potions.
They can also contain enemies. If you're having a difficult time destroying a barrel by attacking it, consider using a special ability attack on it. An area of effect attack or even a faerie spell can take out large groups of barrels with a single attack, not to mention hitting any enemies around them.
If you don't mind using your MP that is. There is no real need to purchase weapons or armor. On the other hand, if you aren't interested in the gold trophy, then what's the point of hording all that gold? Weapons are always a smart purchase.
Lower gear with more useful magical properties are better than higher gear with worse stats. Auto-Transmute is a great feature under the options menu that shouldn't be overlooked.
This will save you a lot of time. Transmuting an item will yield slightly less gold than selling to a merchant. It is acceptable if you only invest attribute points at level-up into your classes main attribute.
Warriors can go strength, Rogues can go Dexterity, and Mages can go Energy. For more specific information on how to distribute attributes, see the classes sections. No need to invest a skill point every level up, save them for an ability you really want. Althought you won't be able to invest all your saved points into a just unlocked skill, you will want to invest multiple skills per level higher up.
The Foul-Smelling Man shows up in many of the dungeons in the game. His merchandise is always better than average quality. There are chests of green with gold trim, and larger than regular chests. These are epic chests and contain only high quality items. Holding down auto-attack button lets your character automatically attack the next foe assuming they are within range. Skill powers disable your auto-attack, forcing you to reactivate it.
Faerie spells do not. Selecting a quest in the Quest Journal and clicking the "Make Active" button in the lower-right corner shows you where to find the quest objective on the Map screen using a green "plus" sign. The game allows you to save a maximum of 4 characters. Red and Blue shrines can be found in many of the game's dungeons. Red restores health and mana, while blue enchants you with a temporary shield of sorts. On normal difficulty the point cap for skills is On hard mode this limit is On heroic mode this limit is You will only receive 1 Exp from killing enemies 5 levels or more lower than you.
Dying holds no consequence other than starting back at a checkpoint. In fact, if you are below 3 potions, dying will automatically put 3 potions in your inventory. Side Quests Available Just after the Trungus, take the southeast path at the fork to reach the quest "Bogwalker's Delight 2". After completing the "Vengeance - Witch Hunt" quest, click on the pedestal in the north part of the camp to disable to barrier. Head northeast to engage the Mud Lord boss fight.
BOSS: Mud Lord Standing in melee range the boss doesn't use his ice attacks often but his bite attack does a lot of damage. Find the exit in the northwest to get the next main quest "Destination - Gothicus Castle". Continue on with the main quest and you'll get this accomplished quickly. Follow the path in the cave until you reach a treasure chest where you will be ambushed upon looting it.
Head into the southeast path to find the Bogwitch. A simple fight, she will teleport around the room but then will quickly charge towards you again. After the fight loot the epic treasure chest and enter the teleporter. Teleport to the Boglands via the world map to get to the camp quickly. Continue all the way northeast to find Gothicus Village. Some of the Bandit mobs will move around when attacked by melee characters, use the move while attacking technique taught when you first enter the zone to counter this.
They are significally higher level than other mobs you've fought so they can hit hard, but are easily slain. The Cemetery is located at the eastern side of Darkwood. Locate the Path of Kings entrance in the cemetery to complete this quest and receive the next main quest. Patrol back to the entrance of Darkwoods to find the bandits.
Better yet, do this on the way to the side quest "Buried Alive". Side Quest Available As soon as you enter the zone you will be given the side quest "Explore the Wormroot Hollow" listed below. You will fight against 2 Lost Souls, who have a ton of health and the damage they cause stacks up quickly. Don't be afraid to use potions here or to use your faerie if you don't have a better multiple target hitting ability.
Talk to Sister Ellen after the fight is over to complete the quest. Enter the Castle to receive the next quest. Like all bosses, he is immune to knockdowns, but is a simple fight. Side Quest Available Before heading out on this quest, you can choose to do the side quest "Lightning Faerie Trial" by entering the portal to the Trial of Lightning in the center of the Great Sanctuary.
Go to the entrance of the Earthlight Temple in west Darkwoods. Defeat the Lightning Guardian boss to complete this level and quest. When you zone into the Inner Sanctum look for the Foul-Smelling Man, an in dungeon merchant to refill your potions.
On the way to the next zone the Den of Corruption, you'll fight the Corrupted Root mini-boss. You will take a ton of damage during this fight so keep an eye on your health meter. I advise either taking out the mobs near the boss directing, or using area of effect abilities to take them out, or drawing the mini-boss across the bridge away from the surrounding enemies.
At the end of the Den of Corruption you will engage the Rootmonger Demon boss. The Bloodsands are found in southeast Gothicus Darkwood. Before you can enter you need to defeat the Desert Sentinel Guardian and 3 Cherub enemies.
This fight is a joke. Enter the Bloodsands to complete this. Note Must be at this point of the game and have completed "Trial of Heroes I" to receive this quest. The Condemned Village can be found at the south end of Gothicus Darkwood. The Dried Well is located in the center of this village. The priestesses can be found at select areas around the Dried Well dungeon, such as around the Broken Woman.
On the south west end of the Dried Well you'll find the Broken Woman. Speak to her to complete the quest. There are many side quests available here. Head northeast from the Sandwalker Village to find the entrance to The Lighthouse.
Enter it to receive the next main quest. To get there leave the Sandwalker Village north, then head down the west ramp. At the fork in the cave take the northeast path to find the Queen Slime, the Scarlet One at the end of the mine. There are 3 Sandwyrms of extreme size in this cave, the last being called the Giant Sandwyrm. The regular sandwyrms don't count towards this quest. The 3 chests are found at the end of the Bandit Lair where the Spider Queen resides. They are epic chests, not the normal ones.
All the loot from the chests are yours to keep. After the fight head up into the next section of the Lighthouse, the Upper Tower. Find the Epic chest in the center of one of the levels in this area for better than average loot. Continue up to find the next section the Light of Corruption. Climb the stairs towards the smashed light in the center to complete this and activate the Boss fight. BOSS: Unnamed One Melee should position themselves in the northwest side of the level, between the boss and the wall, to avoid being flung from the knockback affect the boss has.
Towards the end of the dungeon you'll find a room littered with the dead bodies of the templars. Talk to the one in the center on the alter with an exclaimation mark over him to complete this. Again, a joke. Enter the South Boglands found in the southwest corner of the Bogwalker Camp. Make your way through South Boglands to find the entrance to the Shrine of Tears. Destroy this Cocoon to complete the quest.
Fight your way through the Shrine of Tears. At both the forks in the dungeon, you can choose to head west to find epic chests, or east to find the exit. Teleport to the Gothicus Darkwoods and head to the northwest corner to find the entrance to the Northerlands. Dispatch all of them to gain access to the rest of the Northerlands. The Abominations can be found all over Northerlands in the north-east passed the Forgotten Outpost.
At the first fork in the cave, take the southwest path to almost immediately find the cultists. At the end of the cave to the southeast you'll find the treasure guarded by the Barbarian King, an elite version of the Nomad Warriors you've been fighting. Reach the end of the Icemurk Dellion cave and you'll engage battle with the Shell Thrall. After the boss is defeated speak to the Lore Master. The island before the faerie's island has a ship on it, and at the top of that ship is an epic chest. Make your way to the last island which resides all the way north to activate the boss fight.
Before you leave the dungeon, make sure you check the area southwest of the boss fight for an epic treasure chest. Teleport to the Bloodsands via the world map. The Fallen Kingdom can be found on the west side of the Bloodsands. A Final Hope Quest Giver: Automatically received when you enter the Fallen Kingdom "Join forces with the cultists to save the fire faerie from the church.
When you find it, you'll be forced into a boss fight. Teleport to the Gothicus Darkwood via the world map. The Forbidden Seal can be found in the center of the zone, it has unique circular design on the map. Head north-east through the World of Ruin to find the blood shrine. These are giant tree mobs, they are hard to miss. Apparently, they are considering of giving out more compensations for the other issues of which the devs are familiar of eg.
Endless loading bug etc. Hence, stay tuned! Before you get into this, do read this announcement made by Max here about the revision of the reward system. I got to admit, while it does help a bit , it still does not solve the fact that, in the Asian servers, Master leagues and above are flooded with rich lower leveled keepers fully decked out in t6 legendaries.
Q: GW Rewards suck! A: The revision to Guild War rewards is meant to avoid newer, weaker players from free-loading in their strong guild and getting extremely good gear over a single weekend. However, that said, I would very much like to see the difficulty level of the WC event first before giving feedback on this. If the difficulty level is going to be on par with the older WC events ie.
Will they get evolved to t6? A: There is confirmation that all these WC gear will be made evolv-able to t6 in due time.
Q: GW is dead, nothing is loading and I can never get an opponent guild to battle against! Yes, it is…yes it is. Blitz uses up your 3 morale but gives you 3 times the amount of war points. Credit to serendipity for pointing it out my previous mistake and clarified by Aqvi. Only one star is cleared and failure for the raid results in no points gained.
Apparently, battle supplies do get the multiplier effect and you can essentially get battle supplies faster. Nonetheless while this does save time in getting your points since you get pts in 1 raid , it does not help when wanting to get battle quests, as you still have to expend morale individually to get those stars.
It is also useful in quickly accumulating Battle supplies to cut the waiting time of raiding members for frenzy to commence by two-thirds. The official changelog here has been posted and while it is fairly comprehensive, there are a number of items which they have missed out mostly minor but a couple of major ones as well. Catching up on lost game time and will update the rest of the posts in tandem. This might not be the right place to ask this but all of us on Win8. Meanwhile all the win8.
It will take five minutes, but you can always spend diamonds to speed up the process. As I played the game in testing, it really started to feel like everything in the game was for sale. It's not just upgrades. You also can buy powerful equipment and unlock skill slots to make your character unstoppable. I've never liked when developers let users buy their way to the top of any game, but Dungeon Hunters 4 is particularly shameless in getting you to part with your money for a little more power.
Even during loading screens the game will advertise items you might want, but like everything else, it will cost you real cash. The single most egregious in-app purchase element, however, has to do with healing potions. You start the game with three healing potions, but if you use one, it doesn't regenerate for eight hours.
Eight hours! Healing potions are a big part of staying alive in a hack-and-slash game, so you will definitely need them. But once your three healing potions have been exhausted, you'll need to spend 20 you guessed it diamonds to get more if you're unwilling to wait through the recharge time.
Conclusion Dungeon Hunter 4 has all the right elements for a great action RPG, but suffers from aggressive advertising of in-app purchases. I was able to play the game fairly well without spending a cent, but there were definitely rough patches where I felt underpowered, and the only way to improve my character was to spend some real coin.
Eventually I got past the rough patch with a lucky drop of a powerful weapon , but be aware this game will tempt you at every corner to pay for shortcuts. In other words, this game would be worth an inflated price compared to most apps if it weren't so underhanded in the ways it tries to take your money. Still, if you're a hack-and-slash RPG fan and love leveling up, upgrading items and skills, and battling your way through an epic fantasy storyline, Dungeon Hunter 4 has it all.
But along with the class skills you obtain in the game you're going to need to learn another important skill: patience.
