Like all the world of C stuff is literally unwatchable to me now. Oh and Suzaku went from a well-intentioned but dumb idealist to having a moral compass of a wind wane, spinning wildly whenever the plot required it and it's not the only spinning thing about him, I know Oh, I guess I kinda also liked when Shirley died. Rolo though Statistics Score: 8. I think because R2 has a lot of plot-holes, unlike season 1. Well, the other potential reason is the irrational biased one: Death Note fans purposively due to the widely known rivalry between the two shows.
I love Code Geass despite its flaws, but it definitely is flawed lol. The whole 'murder princess' thing was a massive plot conveinence that arose due to sunrise writing themself into a corner, C's world and about half of R2 it seemed to lose focus and have a bit of an identity crisis, and it didn't really know what it wanted to do.
There are also a lot of 'semi-filler' episodes that just That said, Code Geass does have some transcendental moments like Lelouch becoming emperor, the ending, and a few of his pivotal character moments.
Also, CC is an elder sleeping god tier waifu and should be treated as such. Despite the people that shit on this moment, the Rolo death was impactful. Shirley too, but only for the impact it had on Lelouch, not on the narrative or us. Like, who cared about Shirley? Because Lelouch is the worst character ever. Chiibi Offline Joined: Nov Posts: BBCode Yeah right there is no way a doujin about vomit exists. I dont like melodrama or memes and I like Code Geass Yeah probably an exageration, I was speaking "colourfuly".
But it definitely has a lot of melodrama and a lot of stuff that seems like meme-celebration-swarm-bait. But shit do they take some sharp left turns off cliffs out of fucking nowhere. Bringing him back to life, while satisfying for a long-time fan, feels like it cheapens the high-stakes world that Ichiro Okouchi built. To give the creators credit, the three recap films that preceded Lelouch of the Re;surrection had been building up to it.
Fans are finally given their answer and learn that Lelouch did die with no intent to survive--but they do so only for C. One of the most exciting moments in for anime was the release of the trailer for the new Code Geass installment, heavily featuring Lelouch on screen. Fans had already gotten a taste of that feeling before when Akito the Exiled premiered. Many viewers tried to decipher where it took place and if this confirmed that Lelouch was alive after the end of the original series.
Unfortunately, the footage in the original trailer was never used, which didn't sit well with some viewers. Leaving aside Lelouch's desire to take down his father and avenge his mother, the story of Code Geass always rotated around the conflict between Lelouch and his best friend turned enemy, Suzaku Kururugi.
The enmity between the two--forged after Lelouch kills Suzaku's main love interest Euphemia--has made many fans unjustly despise Suzaku. He pilots the knightmare frame Lancelot against Lelouch's Black Knights and even kills Lelouch in the end, but his actions are understandable.
In any case, whether viewers like him or not, the fact remains that Suzaku is an essential part of Code Geass. In Lelouch of the Re;surrection , that just doesn't show. He has some good moments, but he's mostly a shadow of what he used to be.
His strong connection with Lelouch vanishes, to the detriment of both characters. The movie may have done a lot of damage to Suzaku's character, but it does add a few welcome moments of interaction between Suzaku and Lelouch. Suzaku's reunion with Lelouch packs a bigger punch than most of the scenes in the movie— literally.
Suzaku's outburst at seeing his friend alive is far more believable and emotional than the other characters' reaction to Lelouch's resurrection. The two friends reconcile, in their own way, which brings a form of painful closure to their arc.
Having acknowledged the fact that some people may not be on board with Lelouch's resurrection, the team behind Code Geass released three films that created an alternate universe. Dubbed Initiation , Transgression, and Glorification , the movies changed key events throughout the series without ruining the major plot points.
Lelouch still has himself assassinated, but the key to saving Lelouch turns out to be Shirley losing her complex storyline. To make matters worse, Shirley barely shows up in the sequel movie, which makes her previous involvement seem unnecessary. Despite it was an accident in geassing Euphie for the masscre, he never put in any excuse and accepted the fault and the sin all upon himself. Setting up himself to be hated by everyone in the world, tainted himself with blood of sacrifice, making himself to be the sole ruler and most sinful person in the world It is true he has never changed since the beginning.
His goal, his motivation, he stays true to the path he believe in Without a doubt, CG R2 is indeed a mess after the initial "death" of Nunnally, but I believe the ending wrapped up Code Geass quite nicely and is one terrific classic!!! It is a sad ending and yet it also has the subtle happiness for the ending. Lelouch finally is able to accomplish what he started off even though that mean carry alone all the hate upon him and sacrifice himself.
There is a character that is caught naked a few times, and it even shows a nipple for half a second at one point. Also, there is a scene where a girl is implied to be pleasuring herself while looking at a picture of another girl. This part isn't really that bad, and will likely be ignored by kids since you sort of have to know what she is doing. Forget that the violence is inappropriate for kids. With Call of Duty and other games many are playing, it really isn't that bad.
It's the nudity that is the main problem. It is possible that it is censored in the American publication I've only seen the Japanese , but it still is an important thing to consider that this website's review makes no mention of.
Other than that, it's a great series. The story is great, and the main character has a very interesting struggle with morals. Adult Written by nduns February 28, Absolutely, utterly brilliant This is easily one of the most brilliantly-written shows ever made, not just by anime standards but shows in general.
It always keeps you guessing, constantly tests your intelligence, has a wonderful and interesting cast of characters and even has an ending that's so tragically satisfying, it's amazing! If you're old enough to handle mature content, I strongly recommend this one. In fact, I'm ashamed of myself for having never watched this series sooner. Adult Written by Robbie the rabbit March 28, Sexual content In English this is. Parent of an infant and 7-year-old Written by Steffauri September 3, A great anime For teens and adults As a personal opinion, I think that this is a great showFor teens and adults.
I have a 7 year old daughter and this show is defenately out for her. The series takes place in the near future when a fictional country overtakes Japan and many other countries around the world; a young Prince of the empire named Lelouch vows to avenge the death of his mother which is very graphic and take over his father's kingdom. There is LOTS of violence including gun use, knives, swords, flamethrower use, drunk driving brief reference explosives and "mecha" or "giant robots" fighting.
There is also a lot of blood, but no gore. As for the sexual stuff, there are some references and multiple full-body or upper-body nude scenes, mostly of young female characters in the series. The rolemodels for the most part are also very negative. The Emperor is portrayed as a racist, abrasive and brazen man who stands for inequality, the good rolemodels are very few and far between--Princess Nunnally and Princess Euphemia who stand for peace in their nation are virtually the only positive rolemodels that act without violence, but one of them is killed off in a hellacious shooting.
So again, great show for teens and adults, this show is off for anyone under Adult Written by David Christopher January 27, Iffy for 14!?!?! Totally on for mature 12 year olds too!! Look into it if you can! It's a blast for young adults and tweens alike!!
If your over 30 you probably would have ZERO interest in it. Adult Written by robinbanks December 28, Great show, for those who like this sort of stuff For starters, I loved this show. Great plot, and easily one of the most creative endings ever, although I won't be spoiling that. However, there are a few concerns for younger kids: The couple of drug references, the scene with the character Nina and the table although that's something that would normally be cut by American producers , and some of the WMDs later on, as well as the position of the character Kallen when she pilots her mecha and a few other violent scenes.
Overall, none of the characters are exceptional role models, and especially not Lelouch and Suzaku. If you are older, however, and like this genre of anime, then you should watch it. Some love it, some hate it, so be be warned.
